Remodeling questions
Do I need a permit for my remodel?
Often, yes. Most construction, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural work needs a permit from your local building department. Some minor work, such as interior painting, replacing flooring, or replacing cabinets or countertops in the same location without changing the layout, generally does not. Rules depend on your city or county, so check with your local office before you start.
How long will my remodel take?
That depends on the rooms, the materials you choose and whether a permit is needed. We go over the schedule with you before the work starts.
What should I have ready before I ask for a quote?
Photos of the space, measurements if you have them, a list of what you want to change, the date you would like to start, and any style ideas you like. A budget range can help too, but it is not required.
